loved this ...leftovers will be delicious

This was by far the best stew I ever made ! I am wondering why it was a little sweet though . I did use the wine you suggested. I think next time I will use 1/2 cup wine and 1/2 cup of the beef broth . We did love this though :) Thanks !!!

After years of fiddling with beef stew recipes to make it look like Fezzik's from The Princess Bride and this one does the trick. This is THE best beef stew recipe and I really feel the method and the inclusion of the balsamic vinaigrette is what really sets it off. Just a perfect, well rounded recipe. Thank you!

This is my go to beef stew recipe. I've tried a ton of others over the years but I always end up coming back to this one when I want something I know is going to be delicious. Thank you for the great recipe!

Can you do this in a instant pot or stove top?

Great dish! Made it exact to recipe. 2 teens and 2 couples loved it. Make enough for leftovers

I made this over two days on the stove top in a 7L ceramic pot. Did everything as per the recipe except the balsamic vinegar (not a big fan). It lacked something to taste like something from the deep south. I doubled the tomato paste, made a medium roux with bacon grease and AP flour and added a little at a time until I got the south Louisiana cajun/creole taste. It was good. Thanks for the recipe!

Excellent go to recipe. I do add a bit of Sherry just before serving and add and vary vegetables….I double recipe as leftovers make excellent pot pies for the freezer.
