My grankidlets love Mac and cheese, this sounds delicious, better than box kind... Thanks, I am going to make it...

I don’t recommend that because like you say it will alter the texture of the sauce and the macaroni will soften.

I am making a lot of this for a church dinner. Can I keep it warm in crockpots, or is that going to mess with the sauce texture?

This is by far the best homemade Mac and cheese recipe that I have made. You don't get any gritty feeling from the rue. The creaminess and flavor are perfect. Made this for Easter dinner and it was everyone's favorite. I will definitely be making this again and again.

I’m so happy to hear you trust my recipes Tara! As far as the fresh mozzarella goes I don’t recommend it in this recipe because it won’t melt as smoothly the texture would be different.

Amazing just like all your other recipes. If I want to know how to make something or think of something that I want to make your site is my go-to. My question is can you use fresh mozzarella in this recipe?

I added ground hot sausage with diced red peppers and jalapeno peppers to make a Cajun mac and cheese.

Olive oil would work too. Glad you've enjoyed this!

I've made this before and it was awesome! I ran out of dairy free "butter" which is mostly oils... can I substitute something else for the butter i don't currently have on hand?
